TEAM SKILLS COMPETITION RESULTS!

We are excited to announce that for the 2024 Rec All-Star World Series we have partnered with Marucci to bring you the Marucci Skills Competitions! All players participating in the World Series will have the opportunity to go head to head against the other athletes in their age group! We will crown a Champion and Runner Up in three different Individual Skills Competitions! Home Run Derby, Fastest Man, and Golden Arm! Athletes will have the opportunity to win one of a kind Marucci and USSSA Swag!

Information is below for each Individual Skills Competitions and how to register! Online entry for each skill is $20. The deadline to enter online is July 8 at 5:00pm. Walkup registration is available the day of the competitions at $25 per skill competition.

This is a completely separate skills competition from the one that the teams will have the chance to participate in on July 11th. The team skills competitions that are on July 11th are team based competitions and are FREE to the players that participate in them.

Will the Individual Skills Competitions interfere with my athlete’s games?

No, players will not be assigned a time to compete. They will be able to come and go as they please and either participate before or after their scheduled games.

When is the deadline to register?

Online registration closes July 8th. Walk up registrations will be availiable.

Are these the same skill competitions that the teams will compete in?

No these competitions are for individual players.

Do I need to bring baseballs?

Baseballs will be provided for the Individual Skills Competitions; players will need to bring all other equipment.

What are the cost of the individual skills competitions?

Online entry for each skill is $20. The deadline to enter online is July 8 at 5:00pm. Walkup registration is available the day of the competitions at $25 per skill competition.

What age group do I register for?

Players should register based on their actual age. If a player is a grade exception, he can register for the age group he is eligible for. The player is locked in to the age group they sign up for when they enter. If a player signs up for an age group that they are not eligible for, they will forfeit all awards and be removed from the competition without a refund.

Do I need to participate in all 3 skills comptition?

No, a player can enter 1,2, or all 3 individual skills competitions.

AWARDS FOR INDIVIDUAL SKILLS COMPETITIONS

Champion and Runner Up in each skill competition will receive the following:

  • Custom Engraved Award Bat
  • USSSA Award Item

INDIVIDUAL SKILLS COMPETITIONS RULES

HOME RUN DERBY

  • Home Run Derby:
    • Players will receive 12 pitches. Every pitch counts
      towards the total number of pitches whether the batter swings or takes the pitch.
      The player will receive only 12 pitches.
    • Player must provide their own pitcher and the pitcher must be an adult.
  • Home Run Distances:
    • 6U - 8U: 100’
    • 9U - 10U: 125’
    • 11U - 12U: 175’
    • 13U - 14U: 225’
  • Walk up Entry fee $25 per player

    • TIE BREAKERS
  • Least number of pitches to reach home run total
  • Least number of pitches before recording first home run
  • Most pitches before recording first out or take

FASTEST MAN

  • Fastest Man Rules:
    • Fastest time 40 yard dash!
    • All players who participate will run two (2) laser timed 40 yard dashes!
    • If laser timer is not working athletes will be timed by event staff on a handheld timer.
  • Walk up Entry fee $25 per player

    • TIE BREAKER
  • Second attempt time

GOLDEN ARM

  • Throwing Challenge Scoring:
    • 5 Throws at a Socknet
    • Hit the net: 1 point
    • Hit the net in the air: 2 points
    • Stays in the sock net from air: 5 points
  • Distances:
    • 6U - 8U: 100’
    • 9U - 10U: 125’
    • 11U - 12U: 175’
    • 13U - 14U: 225’
  • Walk up Entry fee $25 per player

    • TIE BREAKERS
  • Most 5 point throws
  • Least number of throws before scoring a 5 point throw
  • Least number of throws to reach total

IF ALL TIE BREAKERS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED AND THERE ARE STILL TIES REMAINING,
A TIME AND LOCATION WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR THE TIED ATHLETES TO COMPETE AGAIN.
